Coming Up...The Giving Market!

Giving Market Coming Soon Dec. 3-6This year Dowell Elementary PTA is hosting a holiday shop like no other: Giving Market! The Giving Market is a fun holiday market with high-quality gifts that EVERY student gets to experience. Plus, it actually inspires students to live with generosity. It will take place in the Media Center Tuesday, December 3 - Friday, December 6.

Just $20 can buy gifts for everyone on your student’s list!


  • Promotes Generosity - Each gift comes with a personalized note, and every student gets one Giving Dollar to be used on a gift for others.
  • High-Quality Gifts - Our handpicked, meaningful gifts make families actually proud to give and receive. Several have a giveback component.
  • Fun Holiday Experience - With the Giving Market Challenge of the Day, students will spread holiday cheer through spontaneous singing and random acts of kindness.

The Student Giving Guide, the Giving Envelope and the Class Schedule went home on Thursday, November 21st. Be sure to check your child's Thursday folder for this important information!

Together with your child, decide on some amazing items for them to purchase for others. They can write down their “gift list” on the back of their Giving Envelope. Then, each class will visit the Giving Market on a specific date and time as selected by their teacher (click here to view the schedule). This is NOT a preview visit -- this will be the only opportunity for your student to make purchases.

This year you can use STORE CREDIT to purchase a virtual gift card for your student online*. You can still send cash and check, if preferred. Make sure it comes back in your student’s Giving Envelope the day their class visits the Giving Market.

Also, make sure to visit for an in-depth look at all of the gifts available this year. Online click “Purchase Store Credit” to purchase a gift card for your student. Let the giving season begin!

Last, but not least, we need volunteers! Please consider volunteering for a 1.5 HOUR time slot or more. All we need is for you to show up, smile, and help students shop. It’s easy and a ton of fun! (Thanks in advance.) All volunteers will receive a FREE gift and $5 to spend at the Giving Market as a thank you for your time. Plus, your generosity will serve as a great example to your child that giving is fun! Please choose the times that work best for you and sign up here!

Join Us Thursday, Dec. 5th for Cookies & Cocoa with Santa!

Dowell PTA invites you to join us this Thursday, December 5th for a special Dowell holiday celebration!

Doors open at 5:00 for families to visit the Giving Market, view our student's STEAM showcase, enjoy special music provided by Hillgrove HS and take pictures with Santa or a festive backdrop ($2/photo).

Starting at 6:00, students from various classes will perform and the Dowell Singers will present a special holiday musical. After the program, cookies and cocoa will be served, and families may continue to take pictures, visit the Market and view student work until 8:00 pm. We hope to see you there!
